Her Excellency, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, FNSE, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the National Convention Women and Youth Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a strategic position that places her among key party leaders responsible for mobilizing grassroots participation ahead of the party’s national convention.
The appointment is widely regarded as a recognition of her leadership capacity, administrative experience, and commitment to inclusive political participation, particularly in empowering women and young people within the ruling party.
As Vice Chairman of the committee, Engr. Salako-Oyedele is expected to work closely with other party stakeholders in coordinating nationwide engagement with women and youth groups, strengthening the party’s grassroots structures, and ensuring active participation of these critical demographics in the processes leading to the national convention.
Political observers note that the committee plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the party by mobilizing support, fostering unity among party members, and ensuring broader representation in party activities.
Salako-Oyedele, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), has continued to distinguish herself in public service since assuming office as the Deputy Governor of Ogun State in 2019 alongside Governor Dapo Abiodun. Her tenure has been marked by active involvement in governance initiatives, infrastructure development advocacy, and community engagement across the state.
Before her foray into politics, she built an impressive professional career as a civil and public health engineer, working in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos and a Master’s degree in Public Health Engineering from Imperial College, London.
