As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, the race for representation in Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency I is beginning to attract credible voices with clear visions for development. Among them is Hon. Alade Jimoh, an engineer and grassroots mobiliser, who has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging loyalty to party ideals while offering a fresh, solution-driven approach to governance.
Hon. Jimoh formally unveiled his ambition during a “Meet the Press” session organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun West Independent Chapel. The engagement provided a platform for him to articulate a people-focused agenda rooted in service, accountability, and sustainable development.
Speaking with conviction, Jimoh distanced himself from transactional politics, stating that leadership must go beyond personal gain. “If money were my priority, I would not be in politics. My mission is to serve and make a difference,” he affirmed. He emphasized that one of the major setbacks in governance has been the disconnect between elected officials and the people, vowing to institutionalize continuous engagement to ensure that constituents’ voices shape legislative actions.
Describing himself as a problem-solver trained to deliver practical and lasting solutions, Jimoh outlined a leadership style anchored on responsiveness and inclusiveness. He stressed that effective representation must be built on data, feedback, and direct interaction with the grassroots, noting that his first months in office—if elected—would focus on gathering critical information to guide impactful policies and interventions.
On human capital development, he highlighted education as a cornerstone for societal progress. According to him, communities with a strong base of professionals are better positioned for growth. To this end, he pledged to expand access to educational support for students, introduce e-learning facilities in secondary schools, and implement structured professional development programmes aimed at equipping youths with relevant skills for the modern economy.
In the area of economic empowerment, Hon. Jimoh proposed a ward-to-ward cooperative framework, designed to mobilize small contributions from residents into sustainable business capital. He explained that this initiative would not only strengthen small and medium-scale enterprises but also foster a culture of self-reliance and shared prosperity across the constituency.
Additionally, he unveiled plans to renovate primary healthcare centres, roll out targeted empowerment initiatives, and create strategic partnerships that will unlock employment opportunities for young people. He reiterated that his focus remains on delivering the true dividends of democracy at the grassroots level.
Reaffirming his commitment to service, Jimoh concluded with a strong assurance: “If elected, I will serve my people; and in any capacity I find myself, service to the people will remain my priority.”
With a message centered on competence, accessibility, and grassroots impact, Hon. Alade Jimoh presents himself as a forward-looking contender determined to redefine representation and restore public confidence in leadership.
