Fayomi Abraham Ajibola positions his movement within the APC’s 2027 political landscape
As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, Hon. Fayomi Abraham Ajibola, popularly known as FAYAB, is positioning himself within the evolving political landscape of Ogun State through his association with Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Through the FAYAB for YAYI Movement, Ajibola has identified with Yayi’s governorship ambition while expressing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid and other APC candidates, particularly in Ogun West Senatorial District.
His political engagement reflects the growing importance of grassroots mobilisation, community participation and party coordination as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.
Ajibola’s support for Yayi is closely connected to Ogun West’s longstanding aspiration to produce a governor since the creation of Ogun State in 1976.
Yayi’s emergence as the APC’s governorship candidate has generated renewed conversations about political representation, equity and development across Yewa and Awori communities.
For FAYAB, the movement provides a platform for identifying with this aspiration and encouraging engagement with the APC’s governorship project.
His political profile also includes educational empowerment. In November 2025, News On The Move Online reported the commencement of the FAYAB Educational Empowerment Initiative, which distributed writing materials to pupils in parts of Ipokia Local Government Area.
The initiative highlights education as one of the community development concerns associated with his public activities.
Beyond the Ogun governorship contest, Ajibola’s political alignment extends to President Tinubu’s second-term ambition and the broader electoral interests of the APC in Ogun State.
His support also encompasses the party’s candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and Ogun State House of Assembly, with particular attention to Ogun West.
The district, comprising Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa North, Yewa South, Ipokia and Imeko-Afon local government areas, remains central to discussions about political representation and equitable development.
For grassroots political movements, the challenge is to connect party campaigns with the concerns of residents, including education, infrastructure, employment, agriculture, healthcare and economic empowerment.
As the 2027 elections approach, the activities of Hon. Fayomi Abraham Ajibola and the FAYAB for YAYI Movement will form part of the wider political conversation in Ogun West.
His continued association with Yayi’s governorship ambition, Tinubu’s second-term project and other APC candidates places him within the party’s developing political framework.
Ultimately, the movement’s impact will depend on sustained community engagement, effective organisation and its contribution to constructive political participation.
For FAYAB, the task ahead is to strengthen grassroots relationships while connecting his political activities with the aspirations of the people of Ipokia, Yewa South, Ogun West and Ogun State.
