The ancient and peace-loving community of Odan Otun Itele is set to witness a landmark moment in its history as the Baale of Odan Otun Itele, High Chief Babajide Abiola Durojaye, rolls out the drums to unveil and commission his outstanding developmental achievements marking his first 100 days in office.
Barely three months into his reign, High Chief Durojaye has distinguished himself as a visionary grassroots leader whose passion for service, community growth, and inclusive development has translated into tangible impact. His 100 days in office stand as a testament to purposeful leadership anchored on the welfare of his people.
The grand event, scheduled to hold on Friday, January 24, 2026, at the Palace of the Baale of Odan Otun Itele, will feature the commissioning of a community borehole project, a critical intervention aimed at addressing the long-standing challenge of access to clean and safe water for residents. The project underscores the Baale’s commitment to improving public health, easing daily burdens, and enhancing the quality of life in the community.
In a further demonstration of his people-first approach, the Baale will also empower 40 traders in Odan Otun Itele with cash support, a strategic initiative designed to boost small-scale businesses, strengthen household livelihoods, and stimulate local economic activities. This empowerment programme reflects a deep understanding of the realities of grassroots commerce and the vital role traders play in sustaining the community’s economy.
The epoch-making ceremony will be held under the royal leadership and commissioning of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Ademola Eletu Ashorota, the Onitele of Itele, whose fatherly guidance and royal backing continue to inspire progressive governance across Itele land. The presence of the revered monarch further elevates the significance of the occasion, reinforcing unity, tradition, and development working hand in hand.
Expected to grace the event are royal fathers, chiefs, community leaders, youth groups, women associations, traders, and distinguished guests from within and outside Itele, all coming together to celebrate a reign defined by action rather than promises.
Indeed, the atmosphere promises to be overwhelming, filled with gratitude, celebration, and renewed hope, as Odan Otun Itele pauses to reflect on what visionary leadership can achieve in just 100 days.
As the community gathers to celebrate this milestone, one message rings clear: High Chief Babajide Abiola Durojaye’s reign has begun with purpose, progress, and promise, setting a strong foundation for a future of sustained development and shared prosperity in Odan Otun Itele.
