Jamil Mohammed Abubakar, son-in-law of Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, has been appointed Managing Director for Infrastructure and Logistics at Dangote Group, effective April 20, as the conglomerate accelerates plans to expand trade and logistics capacity across Africa.
The move supports Dangote Group’s Vision 2030 strategy to build ports, strengthen supply chains, and boost exports from Nigeria to regional markets. Abubakar, an aviation executive with more than 14 years of experience, will oversee trade-enabling infrastructure, evaluate port opportunities, and improve logistics for manufacturing, energy, and cement operations.
His appointment comes as Dangote ramps up production at its refinery, fertilizer, and pan-African industrial network. The leadership shift follows recent appointments of Dangote’s daughters to key executive roles, underscoring succession planning and expansion ambition
