Withdrawal from Imeko Afon Assembly Race
PRESS STATEMENT
Withdrawal from Imeko Afon Assembly Race
Dear Leaders, Party Elders, Critical Stakeholders, and My Esteemed Supporters,
I write with a deep sense of responsibility and utmost respect to formally announce my decision to step down from the race for the House of Assembly seat representing Imeko Afon Local Government.
This decision was not made lightly. It follows extensive consultations and the sincere intervention of our revered party leaders, elders, parliamentary caucus, and critical stakeholders whose commitment to unity and progress remains invaluable.
Let me clearly state that this decision is in strict compliance with the directive of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and in alignment with its internal resolutions. I have not stepped down for any individual interest, but in obedience to party leadership and discipline, which remain the bedrock of our collective strength.
Over the years, my team and I have engaged extensively with stakeholders across Imeko Afon—including community leaders, non-political actors, youth and women groups—promoting the ideals of our party. We have also supported the less privileged and contributed meaningfully to the welfare of pupils and students across our communities. It is this commitment that inspired many to encourage my aspiration.
While I step aside from this race, I remain fully committed to the success of our party. I will deploy my structure and all resources God has blessed me with to ensure victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming support, encouragement, and belief you have all shown. Your dedication has been the foundation of this journey, and I am deeply grateful.
In the spirit of unity and collective progress, I hereby pledge my full support for the gubernatorial ambition of Distinguished Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), CON, FCA. At this critical time, the aspiration of Ogun West to produce the next governor is both just and strategic for the growth of our dear state.
I wish to specially appreciate the Executive Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his exemplary leadership and steady guidance. Your leadership continues to strengthen our party and inspire confidence across the state.

I also express my profound gratitude to the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, for his dedicated service to the people of Ogun State.
I acknowledge with deep respect the intervention of the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro. Kabiyesi, your wisdom and commitment to peace and unity played a significant role in this decision. May your reign continue in peace and prosperity.
My sincere appreciation also goes to the Onimeko of Imeko, His Royal Majesty, Oba Benjamin Alabi Oyeditan Olanite (Egi-Ogboye, Akanku IV), and other revered royal fathers for their timely and invaluable intervention. Ki ade pe lori sir.
