ABEOKUTA – Leaders of the women wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening grassroots mobilisation and enhancing women’s participation in the political process ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The resolution was reached during a strategic executive meeting of the Ogun State APC Women Chairmen and Committee Secretaries held in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
The meeting, convened by the Chairperson of the committee, Olori Adebisi Olaotan, was attended by selected stakeholders, committee members, and the Ogun State APC Women Leader, Alhaja Aminat Adigun.
Deliberations at the meeting focused on the review of the recently concluded women mobilisation and support rally, with various committees presenting reports on the planning, execution, and impact of the programme. Members were commended for their dedication, teamwork, and contributions toward the success of the event.
Speaking during the session, the leadership stressed the importance of integrity, accountability, diligence, and commitment in leadership and party activities. Participants were urged to remain united and focused on advancing the objectives of the party while preparing for future responsibilities.
The meeting also examined strategies for deepening grassroots engagement across the state’s local government areas and wards. Participants emphasized the need for women to play a more active role in mobilising support for the APC and promoting democratic participation at the community level.
Particular attention was given to efforts aimed at supporting the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, with members pledging to continue sensitising and mobilising women across the state in support of his vision for Ogun State.
A major highlight of the gathering was the formal reception accorded to the leadership of the Tinubu Torch Bearers, a women-focused support group committed to promoting the dividends of democracy and encouraging greater participation of women in political and socio-economic development.
The group used the occasion to reaffirm its support for Senator Adeola’s gubernatorial aspiration and pledged to work closely with other women groups within the APC to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures.
