A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT PATRIARCH – ELDER CHIEF MICHAEL ADELANI OGUNDIMU (BABA YAYI
It is with a heavy heart that I received the sad news of the passing of Elder Chief Michael Adelani Ogundimu, fondly known as Baba Yayi, the revered family patriarch of the Onibata Family of Ago Isaga Compound, Pahayi-Yewa, Ilaro.
On behalf of the KTO Grassroots Movement for YAYI 2027, I extend my deepest condolences to our leader, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI), FCA, CON, the entire Onibata Family, the people of Pahayi-Yewa, and all those touched by this painful loss.
Baba Yayi was a man of honour, wisdom, integrity, and uncommon dedication to his family and community. As the Akinrogun of Pahayi-Yewa and a former Councillor representing Ilaro Ward 1, he devoted his life to the service of humanity, earning the respect and admiration of all who encountered him.
His fatherly guidance, wise counsel, and unwavering commitment to preserving the history, values, and unity of the Onibata Family made him a pillar whose influence extended far beyond his immediate family. His exemplary life stands as a testimony that true leadership is measured by service, humility, and the positive impact one leaves on others.
As Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (YAYI) mourns the loss of a beloved uncle, mentor, and family patriarch, we pray that Almighty God grants him, the entire Adeola and Onibata families, and the people of Pahayi-Yewa the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Although Baba Yayi has departed this earthly life, the noble values he lived for, his legacy of selfless service, and the countless lives he inspired will continue to speak for generations to come.
May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and comfort everyone he has left behind.
Adieu, Baba Yayi.
Your memory will remain a source of inspiration, and your legacy will never be forgotten.
